Our Team

The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation brings the power of music to people in Sheffield. The Foundation is guided by its trustees – Sarah’s family, friends and colleagues. Every trustee has their own reason for being part of The Sarah Nulty Power of Music Foundation, ensuring Sarah’s legacy lives on in the city.

TRUSTEES

Julie Voisey

Chair of Trustees & Sarah’s mum, Julie manages the day to day running of The Power of Music Foundation.

“Sarah’s magic was the way she Made people feel special . She was the core of so many groups and brought people together to have fun.

Sometimes, life can be really hard. Finding joy and happiness, even in the toughest times, is so important. We honour Sarah’s memory by creating opportunities for happiness, through music.

Alison Martin

Trustee, treasurer & Sarah’s aunt, Alison Martin supports day to day the running of the Foundation.

“Above everything, Sarah was fun. She asked ‘what fun can I have and what fun can I bring?’ We want this to run through the Foundation.

Music has a transformative power to improve people’s lives. Whether we help a young person, someone with a disability or an elderly person, we can help to change someone’s life.”

Danielle Gigg

Trustee & Sarah’s former colleague at Tramlines.

“I feel so lucky that I got to call Sarah my friend. She was the most incredible person. She’s taught me so much in life and in my work!

She had the most infectious laugh and I miss her everyday. If everyone could be a little more Sarah the world would be a happier place.”

BOARD MEMBERS

Renee Mitchell

Board member & Sarah’s friend.

“Being friends with Sarah changed me for the better, she encouraged me so much and I will never forget the overwhelming amount of tributes saying exactly the same thing. Her love and friendship was so wide reaching.

It’s so fitting to honour her memory in this way; to be able help others through something she was so passionate about - Sarah and music came hand in hand.”

Kim Gardiner

Board member and Sarah’s Sister

“I admired how diverse the music genres were that Sarah loved! She introduced me to music I would never have thought to listen to.

She knew the power of music. She knew it brought people together and created like minded communities. Music can evoke so many emotions but can lift our spirits. Music energises people and Sarah’s energy was infectious.

I love that her charity helps spread the power of music and I’m honoured to be a part of it.”

Melissa Woods

Board member & Sarah’s friend, Melissa supports with fund raising and social media.

“Sarah was the most unforgettable person ever. If you were in the same room as her, you’d know about it and not just because she was loud 🤣 She was electric.

Her energy was tangible. Still is.”

Andrew Nulty

Board member & Sarah’s brother.

“Music and having fun was Sarah’s inspiration. In hard times, music can shed light, bring comfort and add determination to every day.

To be able to use music to help others in Sarah’s name is a blessing I’m grateful for.”

“I wasn't lucky enough to know Sarah.  I first met her amazing family and friends when I volunteered to photograph at one of their Charity auctions.  We kept in touch and I was asked to be part of the charity.  Having seen Sarah's legacy, how much she was loved and knowing myself the positive effect music has of course I said yes.  I love being part of the foundation and try to help in any way I can.”
